Recruits

Postby Chapel Partner on Mon Feb 22, 2010 12:09 pm

Too early to know if anyone will actually end up at the school they say they will (or swim), but anyone have knowledge of any recruits coming to the MIAC next year?

Monti was saying Benito Martinez is going to Carleton most likely... 1:48 200 Free.

Patrick Foley is most likely going to SJU (according to his dad). Brother of Jim Foley (42 individual points)... don't know his times.

I thought Sundance was talking up some big Ole recruit(s).

Any word on who GAC might bring in?

UST? Are there any more Mullee or Stark bros?

Any likely transfers?

Is that Taylor Kutchen from Iowa? Heard a rumor he's looking at Olaf.

Also heard some Kubat guy (1:54 IM, 58 Breast)... is looking at Olaf and UST.

Any word on GAC recruits? Sounds like Olaf, Carleton, and UST have a few lines on some top 3-type swimmers.

Kubat is considerably faster than that. 58 breast. 154 200 IM. I believe.

Kubat is the little brother of Kevin Kubat (sju) and Katie Kubat (olaf) so i would expect that he goes to one of those two schools, but then again who knows.

Colby Kubat is looking at the Colorado school, St. Olaf, St. Thomas, St. John's and I don't know where else. He is in fact a 154.0 200imer and a 58.8(could've been a 58.2 last year I think) 100 breastroker. In short, he can swim every event. From my knowledge he is liking Olaf as his no.1 pick for next year. But who knows, he is still undecided.

while impressive swims for a pre-frosh, that alone hardly qualifies being able to swim every event.

22.4/48.7/149.0
56.5/158.3 backs
58.2/209.6 breasts
54.5 fly
154.7/408.1 IMs

does this qualify as being able to swim every event?

No. I don't see a 500, 1000, 1650, or 200 Fly time. I think we can pick out the swims that are impressive here.
