2011 Orlando?

There was a very strong rumor of nationals being held in Orlando next year. Anybody have any idea which pool they would be held at?

also heard by those "not in the know", i.e. parents, rumor-spreaders -- University of Tennessee,The Ohio State University, Kansas City, and so on.....................

Don't want to think about Orlando and being in "Mouse World"................... :x
I should be playing water polo.

Anyone?

Well the Orlando YMCA where they hold NCSA Junior Nationals is certainly big enough, it has an 8 lane 50 meter pool with space in the diving well for more warmup and just hosted 1100 kids for the meet over the weekend. They also just got a new snazzy video board. But its a bit of of a dump- stands are grimy and supported by rusting beems.

If it is in Orlando, I'd have to think its at the Y Pool: http://www.ymcaaquaticcenter.com/

That'd be a pretty underwhelming location. Very few d3 schools around there. From swimming in Florida in high school for Bolles, I can say that I always disliked meets at that pool. Pretty dreary and Orlando isn't such an exciting place, although in March the weather wouldn't yet be stiflingly hot.

bolles...ugh, the kenyon of Fl high school swimming.

anyways

the Y in orlando is the only option, any other pool near there is too small and has too little seating

We'd be happy to have you but I haven't heard anything about D3s being here. Also Georgia Tech will host both the men's and women's ACC championships next year. Our pool director doesn't like to host three big meets in one spring (don't ask) so I seriously doubt we would be hosting it.

I'm willing to travel up to 50 miles to see NCAA's, so Florida is not going to work.

Let's hope that it's not Orlando. My sources say it's Tennessee. A much better facility/location. And, Mac, what will you do with your time if you don't go?

Soem of these rumors would make more sense if there was a host attached to them. Who would host in Orlando with no D3 schools in Florida? I've heard IUPUI and I seem to recall UPS putting in a bid for Federal Way.

You don't need a school to be a host, correct? Wasn't the '07 host the Houston Sports Commission? I certainly hope not, because I predict that in 2015 NCAAs will be in my hometown, Greensboro, NC, to justify the $18M pool they're building.

Well I thought Emory might host at Georgia Tech. I hear that all host pools in the future must be at least 6' deep throughout which means that Emory can't host at their own pool.

Puget Sound made some initial inquiries into hosting at Federal Way but the first bit of financial feedback was very pricey as for facility rental. I have not given up in my negotiations although my AD probably has. So, as for the great Pacific Morthwest hosting, doubt it!
