I wonder if that was the first time he has been DQ'd. That was likely the last swim of his career and he was close to an NCAA record.

Another note: Nathan Adrian is the most physically impressive swimmer I have ever seen. Moreso than Phelps.

I really look forward to looking at the result to this meet year in and year out, but I have to say this year was less then impressive. I can't believe that Auburn swam that poorly. I know everyone is going to tell me that they are having a down year and I get that. They did not have a single guy score in a freestyle event above 100 yards.

It is quite the change - rebuilding their swimmers and their coaching staff. The departure of Richard (RIP), Dorsey, Dave have left a bigger hole than people expected I think. Yes Brett swam there, but at this level, that may not be enough credentials to get everyone on the same proverbial page.

I will mention 1 more time that they (Auburn) had the Jaked suits last year when no one else did...
Frank: Look, I didn't go to Vietnam just to have pansies like you take my freedom away from me.
Dee: You went to Vietnam in 1993 to open up a sweatshop!
Frank: ...and a lot of good men died in that sweatshop!

well the Jaked did not have a guy go from 1:40 in the 2 back to 1:49 in a year. It almost seemed like they flat gave up.

I think the meet would have been a lot more impressive if those 18 guys hadn't of gotten sick. And if Austin Staab had still been swimming for Stanford.

Auburn was NOT rebuilding this year - their team was very similar to what is was last year, and they got a great recruit in Adam Brown to replace Matt Targett. Yes, they definitely had the jacked advantage last year - but 5599 is right - it was more than just that. Could have been some dejection/lack of motivation once they were down in the meet, I donno. Wollach had a good SEC meet - the way he swam was quite surprising.

It was sorta nice to see the mighty (Adrian) go down.... although I also wish he had swum to his potential... so a mixed bag there. : )

Conor Dywer was 1:43/4:43 in HS -no junior cuts, but a solid DIII recruit. Now he's swimmer of the meet in DI, after not even making the meet last year. Crazy.

The most surprising thing about Adrian's meet was his 1:36 lead off in the 8fr. Man that is just not good for him.

he is very inconsistent in the 200. I seem to recall that he didn't score in the event last year even though he was seeded 2nd.
