go read the top headlines on swimming world, or collegeswimming, or check our the piles of posts on it on collegeswimming. You can even get the names and teams affected if you dig.

I know that it is 6 guys from Texas, 7 from CAL and 8 from Stanford. But as to who is specifically sick, I have no clue. Rhyme you seem to know. Well?

The info that was coming out was Texas, Stanford, and Arizona (not CAL). There was initially a list of the Arizona guys hospitalized, but it was removed for privacy reasons. It looks like they were hit the hardest with 8-9 guys in the hospital, and I didn't write down the names but I think Basson, Chitwood, and Burkle were on there.

That actually happened to Kenyon this year. Turk was in the hospital the Friday before the meet, and Borland got sick on the plane ride to the meet. All told I think it was about 7 people affected.

"The information currently reportable is that nine Arizona swimmers are in the hospital: Cory Chitwood, Jean Basson, Marcus Titus, Jordan Smith, A.J. Tipton, Adam Smalls, Clark Burckle, Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or are eight of the Wildcats affected. Texas also had a few swimmers become sick, including Jimmy Feigen. Head coach Eddie Reese is also reported to be one of the members of the Texas contingent struck with the illness. Stanford also has some swimmers that are ill."

It kind of all depends on what exactly they got. If Norovirus, they are all going to suck. If just some run of the mill 24 hour bug, they might mostly be okay with IV's and everything.

Norovirus it is apparently. How long did it take Hope College to get back in operation last year when this hit them?

It hit Emory before UAAs two years ago. From what I remember, the kids that got it were able to get back in the water pretty quickly, but it affected their practices and their swims at conference, which was about 2 weeks later.
The norovirus will F you up. You lose a lot of weight and tons of fluids. An IV can only do so much when you can't keep anything from flying out of both ends. I really just feel sorry for the kids that got it this year. Really tough break.

Feigen just led off in 19.03... with norovirus (maybe not with anymore, I don't know how it works, but he had it). Not too shabby.

Kenyon's 2 free relay would've been 16th with their 1:19.05

Circus end to the meet - Auburn flinch, AU and Texas stop after diving in, 6 lanes continue, no recall signal, official drops the rope and hooks several swimmers after their turn, swimmers jumping in the pool to stop their teammates who missed the rope, 9 minute delay, Auburn DQ, Cal wins relay, Texas 2nd but Texas wins meet because of DIVING which is why it is called the swimming and diving championship I guess.

Yep, I was at the meet and saw the circus as well. All that you mentioned in addition to the guy who won the 2 fly getting DQ'd for a one-handed touch on the first wall (which he didn't know about until AFTER he celebrated). It was nice of the crowd to give him an applause after his DQ.

I was right behind Brett Hawke when the relay got DQ'd - he seemed to be taking it pretty calmly. That's really a bummer for him because his sprinters and the rest of Auburn's team had a bad meet (relative to last year at least).

How cute. They applauded him for doing something that my 8 and under swimmers do sometimes? That sucks for him but Good Lord, what a terrible lapse of judgment. It must have been pretty clear too. I don't see an official making that call, with how tough it is to see the quick touches, the splash, and that big of a stage.
Things went downhill for him after Tupac died.
